Ten years have passed since I started working on 'reminiscence'.
The flow of time, the traces of life, and the fragments of memory that I felt in nature are still alive in me. Through “recording memories” with photographs, I may be remembering my own past in nature.
Sometimes I even feel that by repeating the same technique over and over again, I am able to balance my living self and forgive myself for all that I am.
I try to capture and record every moment of my life in photographs. It was a process that was like putting together pieces of a mirror, hidden somewhere in the back of my mind.
Over time, emotions change. Following the changes, the photograph expands into the moment.
I realized that it was not an extension of my memory, but a reflection of my “present self living in the present. After the 'reminiscence' series, I feel as if the natural world has enveloped me forever.
The essential concept of my work is the relationship between myself and nature.
To be one with nature, humanity responds to nature and reflects people.
By placing myself in nature, I feel that life itself is transformed in a poetic way. My work tells a story about the essential and fundamental relationship between nature and mankind.
They are short fragments of life.
Moreover, the photographs that capture these moments are a kind of daily record, hidden in the depths of my heart.
